Life Lines

Life Lines is an interactive team values exercise which helps people discover their own and others values.

Life Lines aim is to prompt open communication about players’ values. The result is that the players themselves, and others, learn about what drives their behaviour.

How It Works
Each player journeys across the board, visiting their personal set of values, as if travelling on an underground network. When a player lands on a value, they must explain their choice to the other players before moving on – easy!

However, just as in life, tasks are never simple when external factors come in to play. Re-routing, discussions, dilemmas and other issues must all be faced, before the end can be reached. Then, the team as a whole must prove that they can apply the learning to the workplace by carrying out a number of selected activities.

Example Applications
Life Lines has been designed to provide a structure to discuss and apply values whilst allowing significant freedom for adaptation. Therefore, it can be used effectively in many different situations such as:

Away Days
Use it as an opener, closer or to provide structure for the day. Life Lines will add both variety and a healthy dose of self-awareness. It provides a comfortable way of establishing team values.

Team Meetings
Use it to promote emotional intelligence amongst the team, address any challenges and set actions to revise processes and behaviours.
 
Company Values Cascade
Help educate individuals and teams in the company values. Allow players time to 'visit' the values on the board and discuss what each value means to them and how they could support them.

During Changes
Help to provide clarity and develop strong teams with common goals when new teams are forming and members feel vulnerable.

Career Path Management
Help players discover their prime motivating factors in life. This is key at all stages in the career life cycle from leaving school and university to changing career direction and during redeployment or redundancy.

Assessment Centres
Use it as a fun tool to relax candidates and reveal a truer reflection of their personality. This helps to discover those who will thrive alongside existing values or act as a breath of fresh air!
