Set Your Objective
A Northgate  Training Game

The most popular exercise in the time management range.

This training activity will leave your delegates disgusted with themselves when they find they don't read, that they jump into tasks without thinking, lose all attention to detail and overlook the most obvious points. It's a RIOT! Packed with learning.

Teams have just 40 minutes
Collectively the team represents a manager starting the week with list of EIGHT tasks that need doing. The tasks are described in general terms on a number of Task Sheets – and it’s impossible to complete them until further information is available. Each team has 40 minutes to set their objectives.

This means choosing which of them are the priorities – there’s no time to do them all! The team signs a contract on which ones they will attempt.

They then have a 25 minute time slot to complete.

Setting SMART objectives
Choose too many objectives and you will run out of time. Choose too few and you will under perform. Set Your Objective! is the most powerful exercise for demonstrating the importance of completing work on time in line with the main objective, selecting priorities and setting realistic targets within the time scales.
