A "Whodunit?" murder mystery (with no actors or role play) involving up to ten teams. One of the teams is the murderer - but no-one knows which one - a nother team is the accomplice. The task of this training activty is for the group as a whole to identify the culprits.

The creepy setting of a rambling country house creates a great atmosphere! Unforgettable messages will emerge about trust, teamwork, organisation, problem solving - and nothing being taken for granted!!

SLEUTH! is ideal for large numbers on Conferences or Away Days, to have some fun. Perfect too as an evening activity on residential courses.

How this team activity works

'Sleuth!' works on several levels. It can be used simply as a lively, social exercise to energise any event - but it also has lots of management lessons there if you want them!

As weekend guests at Tudor Grange - the country house of Lord and Lady Botley - each team is faced with solving a murder mystery. Can teams work out the clues together, to identify which is the 'murder team' - or will lies and deceit block the process? Whatever the outcome, great fun is guaranteed!

Each team, of between 3-8 participants, represents one of the guests at a weekend party - and when another guest is found murdered, the challenge is on to discover the culprit, together with a motive, a murder weapon and a murder location!

Each team is provided with a 'Crime File' with all the clues but to put all the pieces together, they need to share the information with others.

It soon becomes clear that the murderer had an accomplice - so eight of the ten teams know that while they have to work together, there are two teams that cannot be trusted (just like back at work!). Unfortunately the trauma of the murder has given both the murderer and the accomplice a bout of amnesia - so they first need to find each other!

'SLEUTH!' is packed full of fun gadgets that all delegates love - from police IDs that demand the truth be told - to colourful identity badges (imagine 'Bill' from Finance as 'Kitty the Chambermaid'!) There is even a police whistle for the facilitator to control the frantic 'guests'!

Numbers:     This training activity is designed for large numbers on conferences, seminars or events. It is ideal with 40 or more delegates in up to 10 teams (with 4 to 8 participants in a team). If you have larger numbers you simply run two or more sets of the activity.
