The most successful teams consider ALL the options, before selecting the most effective method to succeed in the activity. They soon learn that working smarter is better than working harder!

After each activity we debrief teams to enable them to improve their efficiency for the next one.

Each team activity is designed to be challenging but also fun!

With too many instructions for an individual to remember, how will they manage?

Effective teamwork and good communication skills are essential.

The Lift

This exercise consists of a container which has to be removed from an area inaccessible to the team. Teams will find it difficult to pull and laugh at the same time!

Planning and teamwork are essential for this activity.

A valuable crystal has fallen to the bottom of a pipe full of holes. The only way to retrieve it is to fill the pipe with water so that it floats to the top.

Managing change and a good sense of humour is essential for this exercise!

This exercise requires good planning, effective communication, time management and teamwork.

Teams have 14 pieces of shelving with groves cut in various places which enable them to fit together and make up a display shelf.

They have up to 60 minutes to develop a method of assembly that can produce a finished display shelf in less than 30 seconds.

Teams find it very difficult, but through planning and effective teamwork it has been done in 15 seconds!

Teams must find a way of getting some 'valuable items' across a gap, sever contact with them on the other side of the gap and get them back again.

Teams soon learn that their 'valuable items' (like their customers) need to be handled with care!

Teams need to work together and carefully manoeuvre the canes which can mysteriously move as they try to achieve their task!

Making a bridge and a vehicle is relatively easy. Establishing and meeting the customer's specification is a different matter!

This exercise is an excellent test of Team building potential within the team.

A change of instructions requires more planning and communication between team members. A challenging team building exercise!

A valuable item is down the bottom of a pipe and out of reach - yet it must be recovered!

Creativity and teamwork are essential to achieve this.

The Minefield

Stepping into the unknown is necessary for any team to grow and move ahead, but how will your team perform?

• Will they take risks?
• Do they learn from their mistakes
• Do they support and encourage each other?

This exercise covers all these areas and more when they try to cross a Minefield area. It is easy to begin with but it soon gets exciting as their options get restricted and time is running out.

Great fun, but not easy. Teams have to construct a device to get their 'valuable items' to their colleagues on the other side of a ravine.

Effective communication, trust and support are essential for this exercise.

Team members volunteer to wear a blindfold and guided by a colleague putt the ball.

A fun exercise requiring team members to work together to be successful. They soon discover that "more haste means less speed."

Air Traffic Control

Several aircraft are in a holding pattern waiting to land on an Airport. Unfortunately the flight controllers’ computer is malfunctioning; the aircraft have been given false information and they are blocking each other’s access to their respective runways.

The team’s job is to rearrange the planes to facilitate the landing process.

The Tower Exercise

Inter-team co-operation seems to be the name of the game, but there are problems: teams cannot progress together.

No matter how hard teams try one must win unless they settle for mediocrity. Added to this there is always scope for for double dealing after deals have been made...

NB This is an activity like many others that can be enjoyed indoors or outside.
